San Antonio, Dallas, Houston or?

I am an American optometry African students in the hope of leaving St. Louis after got my OD. I lived in St. Louis all my life and I've never been able to get far enough from the ghetto. Crime here has become a scourge, has the time. Any of these 3 cities, could you please give me your honest assessment on the following: 1. Crime / safety (I'm from STL, so it's more violent crime, I am concerned) 2. Market for physicians. I want to have a clientel different, however, I at least want to make sure that I can practice in a city where there are a number of African Americans Nice 3. Real estate: the search for new areas – solid brick houses, cul-de-saq, gated, etc. I prefer to live in an area / small town just outside one of these 3 cities, not technically in the city itself. 4. Hobbies: Sports, lakes, theaters, etc. Again, there is a diff btwn where I want to live a practice. However, I live among other black professionals. 5. Climate

I have lived all over Texas and can tell you Houston and Dallas are very similar. The only difference is more people in Houston and more humid in Houston. Crime rates are the market the work itself, is actually better in Houston at a cost of living the same thing. San Antonio is expanding to another large city in Texas, however, there remains many of the traditional atmosphere of Texas.
