If Islam “respects other religions”, why did Muslims build their greatest mosques on other religions’ sites?

Most famous mosques once belonged to other religions before Muslim conquerors/imperialists took it over.

Hagia Sophia, Turkey = used to be Orthodox Christian church
Babri Masjid, India = holy site of Hindu god Ram’s birth
Al-Aqsa Mosque, Israel = built on the site of the Jewish Temple Mount
the Ka’aba, Saudi Arabia = the center of Arabic Pagan pilgrimage
Umayyad Mosque, Syria = one of the main churches of Byzantine Christianity
Great Synagogue of Oran, Algeria = the primary center of worship for Algerian Jews
St. Nicholas Cathedral, Cyprus = the largest Gothic structure in the island of Cyprus

Of course, other religions throughout history have turned mosques into churches, temples, etc. too.

But doesn’t this show that Islam wasn’t spread on just missionary activity alone, but by the sword too?
@ HC:

All of those cases happened immediately after a Muslim conquest, when the imperialistic Islamic army turned it into a mosque.

“Islam’s RESPECT for other religions” ? Now isnt it funny that you ask such a question ….

Ans : if there was even an ioata of respect for other religions ….dont you think there would be 360 idols still standing in Mecca today ……??
