Algeria Area code changes in my celular…?
I call my friend to Algeria, and vice versa… but there is a weird situation with the numbers I sometimes I read in my celular screen sometimes…
The Area Code is (011)-(213)-XXX-XXXXX for Algeria
but sometimes she calls me and I see in my scren not that number BUT the following numbers (every time is a new combination) 718-857-XXXX, 718-783-XXXX, 718-622-XXXX like something is ‘changing’ her area code.
What’s happening?
Any clue?
I did not find any other forum for my question 
I’ve seen this before. It usually means that her call is being partially carried by VOIP (Voice Over IP) or some other method, rather than conventional telephony. The 718 number refers to the number where the call is being transformed back into POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) from some other network.
It’s a pain if you want to rely on seeing her number to decide whether or not to take the call, but that’s the breaks.
